Report found animal

For the animal to be returned to its owner, it is fundamental to communicate the finding of the animal to us

What to do when you find an animal:

1

Microchip reader

Head to the nearest veterinary clinic or hospital to have the microchip read. Alternatively, you can contact the Official Animal Collection Center (CROA) / Municipal Kennel/Cattery in your area, and/or the police authorities (PSP/GNR) may also have readers or indicate the nearest location. Some animals have a tag with the microchip number and SIAC contact information, allowing for quick database access.

2

Animal Identification in SIAC

The 15-digit microchip number will be read and entered into SIAC, allowing the animal owner's contact information to be verified. You should also check here if the animal has any missing animal reports.

3

Contact the Owner

Whoever consulted the database will contact the animal's owner using the data obtained from SIAC.

4

Announce Found Animal in SIAC

Even if the owner is not found immediately, the person who found the animal can, through the veterinarian or by communicating directly with SIAC, open a "found animal" case in SIAC. This allows the information to circulate, enabling the owner, when reporting a loss, to be matched with the found animal.
